This coverted houseboat on a canal makes an interesting coffeeshop. The inside has been redone and the fresh paint makes a big difference, but it's best to visit on a warm, sunny day (good luck!) when you can sit on the deck and take in the good view.

Theeboot (closed) Posted by Anonymous on 2001-10-10 04:16:49 My Score: I've managed to go here every trip to Amsterdam. The first time I stumbled across it with a group of mates and we spent a very pleasant afternoon sitting out on the deck of the boat. After that first time (and not remembering where it was located) I had trouble finding it again. My second trip back I made a point of locating it and marking it permanently on my map so I can always find my way back.
The only down side seems to be that all the tourist boats cruise past and, I can only guess, the tour guide is probably saying, "Over to your right is one of Amsterdams infamous Coffeshops". Maybe that's why everyone then takes photos! Of course it could just be paranoia.
